Right now, there are some changes happening at RSW as construction for the terminal expansion project continues.
Starting this Friday, several crosswalks to the terminal will be closed, and access will be limited to Doors 1 and 5 . Ground transportation, including shuttles, rental cars and LeeTran, will be moved to the ground level of the parking garage .
These changes are part of a larger expansion, which includes the addition of Concourse E with 14 new gates to accommodate growing passenger traffic. While much of the construction is behind the scenes, these visible changes will be the first noticeable ones for travelers.
Barbara-Anne Urrutia, Senior Manager of Communications & Marketing at the Lee County Port Authority, mentioned that these changes are the first major changes affecting travelers for the ongoing work.
Airport staff will be available to help passengers navigate these new routes.
While some inconvenience is expected, the expanded terminal and facilities will ultimately improve the travel experience at RSW.
