The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office is warning residents of a scam involving bail money.
According to CCSO, scammers are reviewing recent arrests and contracting family members/loved ones for bail money.
When a person has doubts about the call, the scammer tells them to check the arrest records.
The sheriff's office says they will never contact you asking for bail money. If you receive a call from a "deputy" asking for bail money, hang up immediately.
