The Fort Myers Police Department arrested 16 people during an undercover operation that targeted drug traffickers and the unlawful sale and possession of firearms.
On Jan. 8, the Special Enforcement Division and members of the US Marshals Service conducted a round-up operation to arrest the identified drug traffickers from "Operation Ghost Busters."
Before the round-up began, police said it was learned that three of the individuals identified in the operation were already in custody with one being in the Lee County Jail and two being in the Florida Department of Corrections.
Deputies said one trafficker in the operation was organizing transactions from a correctional facility.

Deputies said four firearms and a variety of illicit narcotics were seized during the operation.
