A man was arrested after repeatedly refusing to stop for DeSoto County deputies.
On Thursday, Jan. 9, deputies attempted to stop a driver, later identified as Oscar Omar Sambrano, near Southeast Carnahan Avenue and Michigan Avenue.
According to the DeSoto County Sheriff's Office , deputies remained close to Sambrano's vehicle and said he also threw a clear baggie out of the window.
The DCSO said deputies were able to stop the vehicle safely.
With the help of a K-9 officer named Lucy, deputies were able to find 11.08 grams of methamphetamine in a ditch. A firearm and alprazolam pills were found inside the vehicle.
Sambrano is facing multiple charges, including fleeing/attempting to elude law enforcement, tampering with physical evidence, possession of controlled substances and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
