A Fort Myers man is dead after a two-vehicle crash in Lehigh Acres Monday morning.
The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene on SR-82 at Alabama Road around 8:35 a.m.
A 40-year-old Fort Myers man was riding a motorcycle east on SR-82 on the left turn lane at the intersection of Alabama Rd.
An SUV, driven by a 25-year-old Estero woman, was heading in the opposite direction on SR-82, approaching Alabama Rd. at the same time.
Troopers said the SUV turned left into the path of the motorcycle, causing the motorcyclist to crash into the passenger side of the SUV.
FHP said the man was pronounced dead on the scene, and that the crash remains under investigation.
Westbound lanes were blocked at SR-82 and Alabama Rd. but have since reopened.
The identities of those involved have not been shared at this time.
