A South Fort Myers woman was arrested after being accused of speeding away from two attempted traffic stops on Sunday morning.
According to the arrest report, a Punta Gorda police officer saw a woman, identified as Yvanka Jael Rivera, 28, driving her car south on Tamiami Trail at the McKenzie Intersection around 1:51 a.m.
Police ran the vehicle's tag which showed Rivera as the registered owner, but she reportedly had a suspended license.
Officers confirmed the identity of the driver before attempting a traffic stop.
Police said Rivera sped off before leading them on a chase for a mile and a half between 80-85 mph.
Officers stopped the pursuit before the Florida Highway Patrol took over.
Troopers found Rivera's car on Del Prado Boulevard in Lee County when they attempted a traffic stop.
Rivera sped away again, according to the report, leading troopers on a chase into Charlotte County before being stopped on Notre Dame Blvd around 2:17 a.m.
Rivera was arrested and is facing a charge of fleeing or attempting to elude a law enforcement officer.
