For at least 50 years, the city hall in Fort Myers has been sitting right on the corner of Second Street near downtown.
Leaders are considering possibly moving to a bigger building if it makes the most sense and will be the most affordable option.
"Each site has its pluses and its minuses. You know, two of them are outside the core of downtown," said Mayor Kevin Anderson.
What will be the best location for the best value? The mayor is talking about the possible options to move city hall. He said the current one on Second Street doesn't have enough space for staff and is outdated.
Options include Lee Memorial Hospital, after the hospital moves across town into a new medical center.
Also on the table is near the future police headquarters on Central Avenue and Market Street, or the old news-press building.
At the council workshop meeting today, members were leaning towards staying where they are and adding to what is here now.
Later this year the city hopes to have more numbers on what it will cost to make the move or renovate.
