United Way announced the schedule for its Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program for the 2024 tax season.
This program is being offered by United Way of Collier and the Keys and United Way of Lee, Hendry and Glades .
The program has the help of IRS-certified volunteer tax preparers and offers free tax filing assistance to individuals and families who earned $66,000 or less in 2024.
Last tax season, the Vita program helped generate over $346,000 in refunds.
Collier County
The program will run every Wednesday from Feb. 5 through April 30 between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. at 9015 Strada Stell Court, Suite 204, in Naples.
United Way is also partnering with First Horizon Bank to offer free tax services on Saturday, February 15 and 22, and March 1, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at First Horizon Bank, at 5247 Golden Gate Parkway, in Naples.

To make the process as smooth as possible, residents are encouraged to bring the following:
- Valid, government-issued photo identification (for you and your spouse, if filing jointly).
- Social Security card or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) letter for everyone included on your tax return.
- Previous year's tax return (if available).
- All W-2s, 1098s, and 1099s for the current tax year.
- Information on any additional income.
- Documentation for deductions and credits you plan to claim.
- Voided check or bank account and routing numbers for direct deposit of your refund.
- Form 1095-A, B, or C (ACA Statements) if you purchased health insurance through the Marketplace.
- If you had childcare or dependent care expenses, bring the provider's name, address, and tax ID or SSN/ITIN.
- Birthdates for you, your spouse and dependents.
- Joint filers must both be present to sign the return.
