Over the weekend, an injured bear was found sleeping in a Golden Gate pond.
According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, staff responded to reports of a potentially ill bear in the area on Jan. 19.
A homeowner said the bear slept a few hours at a time and then walked away.
Officials discovered the bear had severe injuries, and it was later humanely euthanized.
