Unity, reflection and celebration. That's what today is all about as people gather Monday morning to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Residents can participate in the march on Monday at Dunbar Jupiter Hammond Library as early as 9 a.m.
The march travels along MLK Jr. Boulevard through downtown Fort Myers, ending at Centennial Park.
The march itself is nearly two miles long, but the commemoration doesn't end there.
There will be music, food and entertainment afterward at the Caloosa Sound Amphitheater until 5 p.m.
You may be tired after that walk so it is encouraged you bring a chair and place it on the lawn as you enjoy all the festivities.
The march will get started at 10:30 a.m., but residents will begin gathering as early as 9 a.m.
Make sure you wear your comfortable shoes if you decide to participate in the march.
