As rain and frigid air push through Florida, officials say portions of the state could experience winter storm conditions overnight Wednesday and into the morning.

Places like Pensacola, Panama City, Tallahassee and portions of Jacksonville are under a winter storm warning starting at 1 a.m. Wednesday. As a significant system pushes through, these areas could see freezing rain, ice or even snow.
Because of the incoming storm, Gov. Ron DeSantis has declared a state of emergency . He is expected to address the state from the Emergency Operations Center in Tallahassee at 11 a.m.
Southwest Florida
Our area is not expected to see the winter weather like North Florida.
Tuesday Forecast: Expect a chilly, cloudy and, at times, a wet day. Scattered showers spread in from the Gulf of Mexico this morning as well as the afternoon. Our best chance of rain will be from Lee County north into Charlotte and Desoto County. To go along with the showers, temperatures will stay quite cool today as daytime highs only reach the mid-60s.
Wednesday: While north Florida gets ice and snow, we'll just see a cold, windy and wet day across Southwest Florida. Temperatures will stay in the 40s and 50s for most of the day, with periods of rain throughout the morning.
