At least one person is dead after a multi-vehicle crash along southbound State Road 776 near the El Jobean Bridge headed into Englewood.
According to the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office, the southbound lanes of the bridge are shut down as the Florida Highway Patrol investigates the crash.
FHP said there was one fatality. It was unclear if two or three vehicles were involved. The crash remains under investigation.
NBC2 is working to find out if anyone else was injured.
