The Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife, also known as CROW, is getting a big help when it comes to saving our sea turtles. They're working to rebuild a sea turtle complex in Positively Southwest Florida.The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation is giving CROW a $1.2 million grant to move a sea turtle complex forward. Hurricane Ian destroyed the previous facility in 2022. CROW said the complex will be dedicated to Bill and Laurie Harkey. Both are sea turtle advocates. CROW is the only licensed sea turtle rehabilitation center on the west coast of Florida between Sarasota and the Florida Keys.“Rebuilding CROW's Sea Turtle Complex is not just about restoring a facility — it's about providing a safe haven for sea turtles in need of care and rehabilitation,” said Dr. Jessica Comolli, DVM, MS, Dipl. ACZM, research and medical director at CROW.Construction should start later this year. They expect to be open at the end of the year.
