A man is facing charges, including DUI manslaughter, for a crash that killed a 26-year-old man from Immokalee.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 32-year-old Brandon Alexander Deleon of Lehigh Acres was arrested Friday for the deadly crash.
The crash happened at approximately 9:58 p.m. on County Road 846 (South 1st Street) and Stockade Road on Jan. 12.
The Chevy Silverado was traveling north on County Road 846, and the van the Immokalee man was driving was heading south on the road.
Troopers said Deleon's vehicle went into the southbound lanes, and the fronts of the two vehicles collided.
According to FHP, both drivers suffered injuries from the crash. However, the Immokalee man was taken to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Deleon was transported to the Collier County Immokalee Jail Center following his arrest. He is facing charges of DUI manslaughter and two counts of DUI property damage.
