The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office is looking for a suspect who fled a scene in Englewood on Sunday.
According to CCSO, deputies were advised that Jacques K. Gentis, 20, is wanted in Sarasota County and may be hiding at home in Englewood.
Deputies responded to the location and found Gentis who ran away.
During attempts to take Gentis into custody, a deputy fired a shot, but CCSO states there were no injuries.
CCSO stated the incident is unrelated to the shooting along Holtville Avenue in Charlotte County.
The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office has an arrest warrant for Gentis on:
- Armed Burglary Dwelling or Structure
- Damage Property / Criminal Mischief $1,000 or More
- Grand Theft Value $750 less than $5,000
Gentis also has two bench warrants for failure to appear:
Bench Warrant 1
- Armed Burglary Dwelling or Structure
- Fire Weapon Missile into Dwelling, Vehicle, Building or Aircraft
- Damage Property / Criminal Mischief $1,000 or More
- Grand Theft Value $750 less than $5,000
Bench Warrant 2
- 2 Counts of Drugs – Possession of Controlled Substance without Prescription
