A North Port man was arrested and charged with homicide after being accused of making his wife's death look like a suicide.
According to the North Port Police Department, around 3 a.m. officers responded to a call in the 2700 block of Halladay Street regarding a dead individual.
The call was initially reported as a self-inflicted death, however, after an investigation, it was determined the victim was killed. The police department stated elements of the scene had been staged by the suspect.
Miroslav Maksic, 88, was charged with one count of homicide in connection to the death of his wife, Miljka Maksic, 76.
Miroslav Maksic was booked into the Sarasota County Jail without bond.
