The City of Cape Coral is urging residents to conserve water as aquifer conditions continue to decline - especially in northeast Cape Coral.
Residents living south of the Gator Slough Canal and Wilmington Parkway, between Nelson Boulevard and Northeast 24th Avenue, must follow the water irrigation schedule, which allows lawn watering only once weekly.
This is nothing new, it is a restriction that has been in place since Nov. 2023. The city is trying to keep the aquifer from drying up.
But, if water levels don't improve - you could run out of water for your sprinklers and if you are caught not following the regulations you could receive a citation.
Another reminder, Lee County's once-a-week water schedule goes into effect Feb. 1.
