A major crash on I-75 near Kings Highway in Port Charlotte sparked a vehicle fire, leading to heavy traffic delays in both directions.
North Port police said two cars became fully engulfed in flames after a three-vehicle crash just after 7 a.m.
According to officers, minor injuries have been reported and one person was taken to the hospital.
Police said one lane of traffic is currently open in both directions due to a vehicle fire.
The Florida Highway Patrol also responded to the scene. Drivers are encouraged to seek an alternate route if possible.
