Lee County deputies arrested a man accused of robbing a woman, stealing a bag of her belongings — including a kitten.
Benjamin Cummings, 36, is facing robbery charges after being arrested on Thursday.
LCSO said Cummings robbed the woman near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Palm Avenue.
Among the items in the stolen bag, deputies said there was a 1-month-old kitten.
Deputies responded to the location where Cummings was last seen, where they said they found the victim's belongings inside an abandoned vehicle.
While investigating the items, the stolen kitten came out from underneath the car and approached officers.
The victim confirmed the kitten to be the one stolen from her during the robbery, along with the items inside the vehicle. The kitten was safely returned to the owner.
Cummings was placed under arrest for robbery.
