An Arcadia man was arrested Friday after being accused of leading officers on a chase while armed with a gun and a child inside the car.
Arcadia police said they received reports from MidFlorida that there was an armed man, identified as Thomas Garrett Killmon, 33, in a car outside with the caller's son.
DeSoto County deputies also responded to the scene before Killmon reportedly sped away.
Police said Killmon allowed the child to exit the car after a short chase before continuing to speed away.
Killmon crashed the car and attempted to run away, according to officers.
Law enforcement said they found Kilmon and arrested him on charges of driving with a suspended license, fleeing/eluding officers, kidnap, child abuse and a plethora of additional charges.
