A former Lee County Sheriff's Office deputy was arrested Monday after being accused of domestic violence and child abuse.
Zachary Scott Martinson, a former LCSO deputy, was arrested after a warrant for his arrest was approved following an investigation by the sheriff's office.
According to court documents, LCSO said they were notified of a previous domestic violence incident involving Martinson in late January.
Investigations were conducted, which reportedly revealed that Martinson assaulted a woman that he was living with. Three children also lived in the home.
Deputies said that Martinson abused the children, and additional electronic evidence was collected, which revealed the threats made by him towards one of the children.
According to the warrant, between Jan. 22 and Jan. 23, Martinson "abused a child on multiple occasions which could reasonably be expected to result in physical or mental injury."
Between those same dates, the warrant also states Martinson "committed battery on a family member by actually and intentionally touching or striking said person, against said person's will."
On Jan. 27, court documents state Martinson sent, posted or transmitted a threat to kill or cause bodily injury to one of the children.
Martinson turned himself into the Lee County Jail on Monday, where he was arrested.
