The City of Sanibel has made the contents of its recently opened time capsule accessible to the public now available online.
Residents and history enthusiasts can view these images in a PDF document on the city's website .
The time capsule, which was opened on Nov. 5, 2024, commemorated the 50th anniversary of Sanibel's incorporation.
The event at City Hall brought together current and former residents, city officials, and visitors for the occasion. City Council members revealed the preserved artifacts to those in attendance.
To ensure the preservation and continued accessibility of these historical artifacts, the City of Sanibel has partnered with the Sanibel Historical Museum and Village.
Plans are in motion to exhibit the time capsule items at the museum, with more details on the exhibit's opening date to be announced soon.
