A Fort Myers Police Department lieutenant is on administrative leave as an internal investigation is conducted.
FMPD confirmed with Gulf Coast News that Lieutenant Dion Freeman is currently on paid administrative leave "pending the outcome of an internal affairs investigation."
Gulf Coast News has reached out to the department for further information. FMPD said they can't comment further until the investigation concludes.
Freeman is a Fort Myers native who was hired by FMPD in 2002. He graduated as president of the 100th Law Enforcement class from the Southwest Florida Public Safety Academy.
