The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools is thanking mentors in our community. They are making an impact on the next generation in Positively Southwest Florida.
The mentors were recognized earlier this month. Rhonda Dahlin was named Mentor of the Year. The foundation said the mentorship program “provides students with the support they need to succeed both academically and personally.” The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools Inc. is a private 501(c)(3) organization established in 1986.
“Anytime a child has another positive role model in their lives, it is a win-win for everyone,” said Marshall T. Bower, president and CEO of the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools. “Mentoring is one of those evidence-based best practices that work. Mentors often confide in me that they are getting as much (or more) out of this mentor/mentee relationship.”
