A Lee County jury found a man guilty of molestation on Thursday morning.
According to the State Attorney's Office, Nilson Ramos Pereira was convicted after the child told a guardian about being molested.
It was learned that the defendant had been in contact with the child's guardian via social media. A phone call was conducted at the Fort Myers Police Department.
During the call, Pereira told the victim's mother it had been going on for two to three months.
A warrant was issued for his arrest, and he was found in Texas before being brought to Lee County.
Perreira was found guilty on three counts of lewd and lascivious molestation.
His sentencing is scheduled for March 17, 2025.
