There are two words no artist wants to hear: done for.
For bandmates Riley Stewart and Parker Shogren, DONEFOR is more than the name of their band. It's a calling from the soul.
They started where many bands do: in college.
"People would sit on the ground in a pizza place," said Riley of the band's beginning shows.
From the ground to playing for famous artists like Sublime and 311, as DONEFOR grew, so did its creative challenges.
"We were listening to a track and we're like something's missing," said Parker.
That missing link wasn't missing for long.
Parker reached out to Kellin Quinn, the famous singer and lead guitarist of "Sleeping with Sirens" band to collaborate on DONEFOR's new song.
Within twelve hours, DONEFOR's song "Paradigm" was complete, with Quinn a featured artist on the track.
"Someone walks by, and they don't say Kellin Quinn... they're like, "DONEFOR?" and we're like wow, what?!" said Parker.
Collaborating with Quinn on the song Paradigm was meaningful in more ways than one.
"A whole decade of my life I had really bad anxiety," said Riley. "I had to walk off stage one day and not play a show. I wrote a song about that."
That pain turned into purpose that was channeled through their art.
If there's one thing this band knows to be true it's that no matter where you start, rock on and stay the course.
