Lee County School District says 24-year-old Genesis Zayas resigned from Island Coast High School and is no longer an employee after being arrested Tuesday for being accused of inappropriate behavior with two students.
A report from the Cape Coral Police Department says that Zayas was talking to one student who turned 18 and added her on Snapchat through a friend suggestion tab. The report added that their conversation turned into flirting and then escalated to Snapchat's calling feature.
The student told investigators that Zayas sent him nude pictures of herself.
Another male student had similar interactions, interacting with her on Snapchat as well. Zayas sent him nude pictures, but the student stated he was going to report her, she told him not to.
Zayas is being charged with two sexual offenses. Her next court appearance is scheduled for March 10, according to the Lee County Sheriff's Office arrest page.
