North Port Police respond to shooting, Thursday night

NORTH PORT, Fla. — The North Port Police Department is investigating a shooting from Thursday night.

Officers said it happened around 9:30 p.m. on the 8000 block of Rocliff Avenue. Someone reported that a person had been shot, according to police. They then arrested a suspect who, they said, knows the victim.

At this time, police believe the incident was isolated.
