Fort Myers Beach officials will review a proposed food truck park on Estero Boulevard on Tuesday; however, some nearby residents oppose the plan, citing noise and traffic concerns.

A proposal to allow a food truck park on Estero Boulevard will go before the Fort Myers Beach Local Planning Agency at 9 a.m. If approved, the ordinance would still require Town Council approval before becoming final.
According to the agenda, the request seeks to amend commercial planned development zoning to allow mobile vendors at properties located at 2500, 2510, and 2518 Estero Blvd., as well as 2543 Cottage Ave.
The food truck park would include outdoor seating, on-site consumption of food and beverages, and a commercial parking lot.
The proposal has drawn opposition from nearby property owners, including the Pelican Watch Condominium Association, and several other nearby residents, all of whom have filed for intervenor status.
In a letter to the town, their attorney argued that the project would negatively impact neighboring residential properties by increasing traffic, noise, and light pollution, reducing property values, and disrupting quality of life.
The LPA first reviewed the proposal on Jan. 9 but was unable to reach a decision after a tied 3-3 vote.
The discussion was continued to Tuesday's meeting, where updated plans will be considered, including modifications to the site’s layout, lighting restrictions, and designated operating hours from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Even if the LPA approves the request, it will still require review and final approval from the Town Council before any development can proceed.
