A new traffic pattern at the intersection of Colonial Boulevard and Six Mile Cypress Parkway in Fort Myers is now in effect, aiming to reduce congestion near I-75.
The Florida Department of Transportation implemented the continuous flow intersection over the weekend as part of the diverging diamond project, which began in 2021.
Drivers will notice left turn lanes have shifted before reaching the intersection. This change is intended to help with the flow of traffic on and off the interstate.
The entire project is expected to be completed in the next few months.
