Lawmakers are heading back to Tallahassee on Monday for another special session on immigration.
It comes after Florida's governor threatened to veto the laws passed during last month's special session on the same topic.
This time, lawmakers are planning to give Gov. Ron DeSantis more of what he wants when it comes to illegal immigration. DeSantis wants to align more with President Donald Trump's aggressive immigration reform.
The bills lawmakers are considering will give DeSantis a bigger role in enforcing immigration laws. Plus, it will make it a state-level crime for people who are in the U.S. illegally to come to Florida.
One of the big complaints DeSantis had with the bills from the last special session was that they made the state agriculture commissioner the person in charge of enforcing immigration laws, instead of the governor.
He also said it didn't do enough to force local police and sheriffs' offices to enforce those laws. DeSantis promised he was going to veto the bills.
The special session begins Monday.
