An owner of Gatorama is recovering after an alligator bit him during a feeding show.
Gatorama released a statement on Sunday that confirmed Allen Register, who owns and operates Gatorama together with his wife Patty, was engaged in one of the daily feeding shows when he was bitten by an alligator.
The company said Register was treated and released from the hospital. With 37 years of experience working with large alligators and crocodiles, Allen has dedicated his life to the care of the animals, according to the release.
Gatorama said Register has always strived to ensure the safety of both his guests and the animals under his care.
"We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the medical staff, our team, the guests that supported Allen at the time of the accident and the community for their concern," the release said.
Patty Register said, "We are thankful God protected him and gave him strong legs and a sharp mind."
The company said it remains focused on the safety and care of its guests, team, animals and staff as it moves forward.
