Valentine's Day is just around the corner. So, what special dish are you making to celebrate your loved ones? Why not start your day of love by whipping up some healthier, sweet breakfast treats?
Local dietitian Gisela Bouvier joined Gulf Coast News to share some delicious recipes with a healthier twist.
Bouvier recommends starting your Valentine's Day morning with a protein-packed breakfast. Two dishes she suggests are a berry parfait and a Valentine's Day smoothie. While both are delicious, they will also help keep you full and with sustained energy.
Other recipes she showcased were raspberry overnight quinoa and red velvet pancakes. Bouvier also pointed out new research between nutrient consumption and work/academic performance with people who consume breakfast.
