Boaters in Cape Coral are getting frustrated because they can't park their boats in their driveways all the time.
"You got to choose your battles wisely," said Timmy Potts.
Timmy knows the struggle of owning a boat; it may look nice, but it can be a headache.
"The parking can be a little bit tough," he said.
Potts says his boat is large, meaning sometimes it's hard to park it in his yard.
"Well, I think that's a little bit of pain in the butt. It depends on if they live on the water, in fact, you know, but, primarily, they're going to have to do that because our parking is so limited around Cape Harbor right now," said Potts.
There are rules where to park them or you could be fined. The city says you can't park in the front or side of your house, vacant lots are not an option either.
Last month, city council member Laurie Lehman proposed changing the city's codes but didn't have enough votes, and the motion failed to move forward.
"Sounds like another way to make money because you have to buy the permit, right? Everything's a license, everything's a charge," said Janice Hughes.
As a whole, you got to do what you got to do," said Potts.
The permits you apply for to park a boat out front only lasts for 72 hours, you would have to reapply 48 hours later.
