Behind every great security officer is a partner they can trust. Luckily for security officer Daniel Bledscoe, canine Colby is reliable and downright adorable, too.
"She's like a first responder. She's able to turn it on and off," said Bledscoe.
The 6-year-old German shepherd works side by side with Bledscoe every day, protecting kids at the Village School of Naples.
"It impacts your life for the better. They're so loyal, and they're so loving," said Bledscoe. "You treat this place like family because you work even harder to protect your family, the people you love."
It's that love for family that drives teacher and mother Elizabeth Nixon to do everything in her power to keep her daughter, Evelyn, safe.
"I feel like it's my heart walking around outside of my body," said Nixon. "If something were to happen, we are in the best hands possible."
While canine Colby provides comfort and care, she can also be counted on when duty calls.
