Police shoot suspect at Mel's Diner in Fort Myers

FORT MYERS, Fla. — The Fort Myers Police Department has confirmed a shooting has occurred at Mel's Diner on Cleveland Avenue.

Police tell us the suspect is in custody, and has been take to a local hospital.

No law enforcement or bystanders were injured.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating.

FMPD says it will cooperate and assist with the investigation.
