A Lee County Sheriff’s Office arrest warrant now makes it clear why a Lee County deputy is off the force facing charges for threatening his wife and children.
Deputy Zachary Martinson's 5-year-old son told a teacher about the abuse.
The kindergarten student told his teacher he witnessed his father point a gun at his head, threatening to kill his mother and himself.
He told his teacher that his mom had bruises all over her body.
The report said the boy used his hand to resemble a gun and then pointed it at his head, showing what his father Martinson did. The teacher reported it to deputies who began an investigation and talked to two other children in the home.
Both said their father pushed their mother into a dresser, threw his phone at her and threatened to kill himself.
His wife told deputies he grabbed his "agency-issued gun" and put the barrel to his head threatening to kill himself while she and the children watched.
Deputies also obtained Martinson's phone, showing a text he sent to his wife saying, "Because you can't tell the truth (expletive) you're digging your own (expletive) grave."
That text was among numerous other threats he made.
Martinson faces one count of battery and three counts of child abuse without bodily harm and threatening to kill. He was fired from the sheriff's office.
Martinson is among three deputies currently under investigation for separate incidents. Sheriff Carmine Marceno himself is under investigation by the FBI for alleged money laundering.
