A minor was shot and injured Thursday morning on Skyline Boulevard, and two people have been detained, according to the Cape Coral Police Department.
Officers have been on the scene near the 3100 block of Skyline Boulevard since about 5:30 a.m. Crime scene tape surrounded an SUV in the middle of the road for hours during the investigation.
Police confirmed the victim is a minor and was taken to the hospital. Authorities are working to determine if others were involved.
An increased police presence is expected in the area, and residents are advised to avoid the vicinity if possible.
No further details about the victim have been released.
