The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office is investigating a road rage-turned-shooting at the base of the US-41 bridge in Port Charlotte.
Deputies responded to the scene around 7 p.m. Saturday near the Sunseeker Resort, shutting down southbound lanes of US-41.
All lanes reopened around 10 p.m.
Deputies were also on scene at the Shell gas station along Jones Loop Road. Gulf Coast News saw Charlotte County deputies and detectives investigating.
Crews on the scene said they saw four motorcycles outside of the gas station speaking with CCSO.
Deputies said no one was hurt in the incident.
One woman told Gulf Coast News her friend was working inside the Shell gas station when she saw the four motorcyclists run inside the bathroom to hide from the cops.
We have questions out to the sheriff's office to learn more about what led up to the shooting, who is involved and if anyone has been arrested.
