A Bokeelia man pleaded guilty to possessing child sexual abuse material and now faces up to 20 years in federal prison.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Vincent Jay Yau, 42, also agreed to forfeit his laptop and cellphone, which were used in the offense.
According to court documents, Homeland Security Investigations executed a federal search warrant at the man’s home, where agents found multiple electronic devices containing thousands of files of child sexual abuse material.

The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations and is being prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
A sentencing date has not yet been set. Mugshots are not available in federal cases.
According to the DOJ, this case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a national initiative launched in 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat child exploitation and abuse. The initiative brings together federal, state and local resources to identify and prosecute offenders and rescue victims.
