Talks of Congressman Byron Donalds running for governor of Florida are ramping up as President Donald Trump gave his full endorsement if he decides to run.
In a post to his platform Truth Social on Thursday night, Trump spoke highly of Donalds.
Trump ended his tweet by making it clear that he would fully endorse Donalds' candidacy if he runs:
"Byron Donalds would be a truly Great and Powerful Governor for Florida and, should he decide to run, will have my Complete and Total Endorsement. RUN, BYRON, RUN!"
Donalds followed up the president's message by stating his commitment to working with the president and even teased that an announcement is coming soon.
The next election for Florida governor will take place in 2026. Florida First Lady Casey DeSantis is also considering running for governor.
