Emergency responders in Cape Coral saved two family dogs from severe smoke inhalation after a house fire on Thursday, Feb. 13.
According to Cape Coral Fire Department officials, Medic 38 and District Officer 2 arrived at the scene alongside firefighters.
As firefighters pulled the dogs from the burning home, they were unresponsive and struggling to breathe.
Paramedic Cesar Valencia, EMT Adrian Mondragon, and Lt. Kevin Murphy quickly revived the animals with oxygen and emergency care.
By the time the homeowners returned, the dogs had regained consciousness.
Emergency responders emphasized their commitment to helping all living beings in need.
“Our providers don’t just care for people—they care for all living things,” Lee County Public Safety said in a statement.
No injuries were reported among the residents. The location of the fire was not provided.
