A woman in Port Charlotte was arrested on prostitution charges after an undercover operation at a business advertising aroma therapy services.
According to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, detectives began investigating “Bumble Bee – The Scent Shop” at 795 Crestview Circle NW after receiving multiple tips about illegal activity inside.
The business had a website featuring photos of young women and a schedule of who would be working on any given day.
An undercover detective scheduled an appointment to verify the allegations.
When the detective arrived, a woman identifying herself as “Diamond,” later confirmed as Katherine Rose Geuther, 21, led him to a small room with a massage table. She then explained the cost of a 30-minute or 60-minute session, the detective said.
Geuther briefly left the room and, when she returned, CCSO said she removed her clothing and attempted to engage in sex acts with the detective.
The detective declined and left the room, at which point Geuther was arrested on charges of soliciting prostitution, first offense.
Sheriff Bill Prummell thanked community members for providing tips and stated that law enforcement would continue to investigate such activities.
“These disgusting acts are not welcome in Charlotte County, and we will continue to combat them,” Prummell said.
