A woman with a history of felony charges has been avoiding law enforcement for weeks after failing to appear in court following a drug possession arrest.
According to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, Micael Daire, 44, who has multiple prior offenses, has eluded capture several times since early January and may be hiding in Cape Coral or North Fort Myers.
Deputies said Daire was a passenger in a vehicle that was pulled over for a traffic stop. During the stop, she was searched, and several baggies of narcotics were reportedly found in her possession.
After spending a week in jail, she was released with instructions to appear in court but did not show up for her scheduled hearing.
Since then, law enforcement officers have attempted to take her into custody multiple times, but she has managed to escape each time.
Authorities believe Daire is aware of her fugitive status and may be staying with acquaintances in the area.
Records show she has five prior charges between Lee and DeSoto counties, including drug-related offenses and resisting law enforcement.
Deputies continue their search and urge anyone with information about her whereabouts to come forward.
