A dive group was able to help law enforcement recover a submerged vehicle with human remains inside in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said a driver was traveling on Dean Road in Orlando when they suddenly ran off the roadway and crashed into a retention pond.
As a result, the vehicle became completely submerged in water.
On Saturday morning, Sunshine State Sonar , a volunteer dive group, located the vehicle in the pond using sonar and notified law enforcement.
The vehicle was recovered, and remains were found inside.
It's still unclear when the crash occurred and the identity of the remains inside.
The medical examiner's office is working to determine the identity.
Troopers said the case is associated with an Orange County Sheriff's Office missing person case.
The FHP said it will investigate the deadly crash.
