A video shows a work van running over a dog and the driver taking off from the scene in Lehigh Acres. It happened on Xelda Avenue N near the intersection of Sunset Road.

On Monday, Gulf Coast News received the video from a person who shared their Ring camera footage of the incident. The person who sent the video said speeding is a problem along the roadway.
He also said Lee County deputies did visit him to view the video. According to the Lee County Sheriff's Office, the Animal Cruelty Task Force is investigating the incident.
