Collier County leaders are gathering on Tuesday with the City of Naples for the historic pier project after it was ripped to shreds by Hurricane Ian in 2022.
The county plans to use seven boat trailer spaces and part of the docks at Bayview Park to unload debris from the demolition of the pier.
For the Naples Pier to look like it once did, the county said the debris from the old pier will need to be dried out, sorted and hauled away to a landfill.
This will not interrupt residents from enjoying the rest of Bayview Park and the boat ramp.
Work will only happen on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., with no operations on weekends or holidays unless the city and county manager agree otherwise.
The county said the plan is that no debris will be left at the park. The whole demo project is expected to take between four to six months.
