Republican Congressman Byron Donalds announced he is entering his name in the 2026 Florida governor race.
Last week, President Donald Trump endorsed Donalds in a Truth Social post if he decided to run.
Donalds spoke highly of the president, mentioning his excitement to continue working with President Trump and teasing that an announcement was coming soon .
The time for that announcement has come as Donalds officially announced Tuesday night his long-rumored candidacy to be Florida's next governor.
Florida's First Lady Casey DeSantis was rumored to consider running for governor as well.
