Gulfcoasting: Fort Myers Brewing Co. marks 12 years with four-day festival of craft beer, live music

Fort Myers Brewing Co. is celebrating its 12th anniversary with a four-day festival featuring craft beer, live music, and food trucks.

The event, running through Sunday at the brewery’s location on Commerce Lakes Drive, showcases the company’s role in Southwest Florida’s craft beer industry.

The brewery was founded in 2013 as the first microbrewery in Lee County. Over the past 12 years, it has expanded into a 22,000-square-foot operation with a four-vessel, 30-barrel system that produces 15,000 barrels of beer annually for its taproom and local distribution. Recently, the brewery was named the Best Large Craft Brewery in Florida in the Best Florida Beer Professional Championship.

The anniversary festival features a lineup of local food trucks and live music performances throughout the weekend. Attendees can enjoy a variety of Fort Myers Brewing Co.’s signature beers, as well as special releases brewed for the occasion.

Jen Whyte, founder and owner of Fort Myers Brewing Co., said the event is a celebration of the brewery’s growth and the community’s support. “We never expected to be as big as we are. It was just a hobby initially,” Whyte said. “It's been incredible. We're so thankful to the community.”

The brewery invites the community to join the festivities through Sunday. For more information, visit www.fmbrew.com .
