A law enforcement-led run in Lee County is set to take place Friday morning, causing temporary lane closures and minor traffic delays. The Torch Run for Special Olympics is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m.
A single right lane will be closed before the start of the event to accommodate runners. Drivers are advised to avoid the area or allow extra travel time as traffic may be affected for the duration of the event.

The route is a box that will run west from the Lee County Sheriff's Office on Six Mile Cypress Parkway, north on US-41, east on Daniels Parkway, south on Metro Pkwy, and back west on Six Mile Cypress Parkway, returning to LCSO.
Motorists are encouraged to plan accordingly and remain cautious in the affected areas. Authorities will be on-site to assist with traffic control and ensure the safety of participants and drivers.
